Bolder Damn – Mourning – Noble Records Exclusive Variant: Black & Gold | Limited Edition: 500
The Florida Heavy Psych Monster” Format: 12″ Vinyl LP (Hard Cardboard Sleeve + OBI) Color: Noble Exclusive Black & Gold | Limited to: 500 Copies
When talking about US hard rock and proto-doom private pressings, Bolder Damn is an absolute monster.
Hailing from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, the band released this beast in 1971. Defined by an ultra-heavy, “raw-in-your-face” sound, Mourning features loud fuzzed-out guitars, a solid rhythm section, and manic vocals that have made it a cult classic for decades.
This Noble Records Exclusive edition is pressed on Black & Gold Vinyl, limited to just 500 copies.
Formed in 1969, Bolder Damn cut their teeth in the Florida club scene, their energetic live shows earning them opening slots for legends like Alice Cooper, MC5, The Amboy Dukes, and Blue Cheer.
In 1971, the band entered Hyperbolic Studios to record their sole album. The entire session lasted just four hours. The result was a raw, unfiltered document of American heavy rock. Originally privately pressed in a run of only ~200 copies (distributed mostly to friends and family), the band’s career was cut short in 1972 when members John Anderson and Ron Refett were drafted into the Vietnam War.
While the whole album crushes, Side 2 is legendary for the 16-minute epic “Dead Meat.” This track is a masterclass in heavy, proto-doom style, earning favorable comparisons to contemporaries like Black Sabbath and Pentagram.
Deluxe Packaging: Housed in a hard cardboard sleeve with an OBI strip, reproducing the original artwork.
Remastered Audio: Restored for maximum heaviness.
Bonus Materials: Includes a download card and a fold-out insert featuring rare photos and detailed liner notes/interview with singer John Anderson.

Took my daughter to Noble Records for the first time today. Friendly staff, cool spot. Store was easy to navigate. My daughter found the Blink album she wanted & we left. Will definitely be back
This is one of the best records places in the Charlotte-Matthew area. They have an amazing selection of sealed & preowned vinyls, cassettes, CDs, and more.
Sometimes I find record stores through research on the cities I visit. Other times fellow collectors might provide advice on where to go. Noble is neither ... I found them through their Instagram presence
