Joe Prichard & Gibraltar – Noble Records Exclusive – Teal Vinyl
Noble Records Exclusive pressed on teal vinyl, limited to 300 copies.
Courtesy of RidingEasy Records.
Originally released in 1974, this studio-produced rarity delivers blues-driven heavy guitar riffs anchored by strong, commanding vocals.
Very little is known about Joe Prichard or his bandmates, other than that the Missouri-based group drew from a wide range of influences. The five tracks each carry a distinct character — from Jimmy Page–style power chords and sharp staccato breaks, to the throaty sax of 12-bar blues outfits like Climax, to the dual-guitar swagger of ZZ Top. There’s even a sprawling nine-minute jam in the spirit of Jethro Tull or Traffic, featuring flute and sax passages that add a jazzy dimension to the album’s heavy backbone. This is another extremely rare title brought back into circulation by RidingEasy Records.
A polished 1970s rarity with a muscular rock sound, the album moves fluidly from ambitious prog to bluesy bar-rock and into bold FM-rock territory. Strong guitar leads, soulful vocals, and a versatile rhythm section make it consistently compelling.
Keyboards, woodwinds, and layered arrangements lend a prog-AOR feel that may surprise some listeners, yet the groove and musicianship keep the energy locked in across the extended tracks.

Took my daughter to Noble Records for the first time today. Friendly staff, cool spot. Store was easy to navigate. My daughter found the Blink album she wanted & we left. Will definitely be back
This is one of the best records places in the Charlotte-Matthew area. They have an amazing selection of sealed & preowned vinyls, cassettes, CDs, and more.
Sometimes I find record stores through research on the cities I visit. Other times fellow collectors might provide advice on where to go. Noble is neither ... I found them through their Instagram presence
